Secret Santa gifts are supposed to be anonymous. He has decided anonymous also means unsupervised, and is currently carrying an armful of them out of the office at speed. Santa hat balanced on the bow, overcoat flapping open, a parcel the size of a filing cabinet held flat on one palm, and the exact face of somebody who has just been spoken to from behind. His actual face - upload a photo and it goes straight onto the man doing the sneaking.

All the way round the mug the rest of the department carries on oblivious. Tinsel strung along the filing cabinets, a desk tree listing badly to one side, colleagues still at their screens under a paper chain, and a wall clock showing a time nobody is paying the slightest attention to. Good for the Secret Santa exchange itself, the office Christmas party, the work do, or the colleague everybody already suspects.

How it works

Upload one photo. The background comes off automatically and the face drops into the design, sitting behind the collar so the join never shows and his own hair stays on.

Pictures taken on a phone are always big enough - phone cameras shoot around 3000 x 4000 pixels and we need a minimum size of 1000 x 1000. Pick a clear, well lit one where the face is not small in the frame, and use the original from the camera roll rather than a copy forwarded through a messaging app, which gets shrunk.

A daft face beats a neat one. The joke is the mismatch between a completely straight expression and the body language of somebody halfway out of a fire exit.
