Gifts for nurses and midwives, personalized with their own photo. A newborn being weighed on a set of brass scales, the dad flat out on the floor with the birds still circling, and a real face on the midwife holding it all together. Upload a photo and it becomes the mug she shows everyone on the unit.

For the midwife in your family, or the one on your ward. Good for qualifying, the end of a placement, a leaving do, a thank you after a birth, International Day of the Midwife on 5 May, or Christmas.

How it works

Upload one photo. The background comes off automatically and the face drops into the design, sitting behind the collar so the join never shows and their own hair stays on.

Pictures taken on a phone are always big enough - phone cameras shoot around 3000 x 4000 pixels and we need a minimum size of 1000 x 1000. Pick a clear, well lit one where the face is not small in the frame, and use the original from the camera roll rather than a copy forwarded through a messaging app, which gets shrunk.

A daft face beats a neat one. The joke is the mismatch between the expression and the uniform.
